Oasis are an English rock band formed in Manchester in 1991. The group initially consisted of Liam Gallagher (lead vocals), Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs (guitar), Paul "Guigsy" McGuigan (bass guitar) and Tony McCarroll (drums). Liam asked his older brother Noel Gallagher (lead guitar, vocals) to join as a fifth member a few months later to finalise their formation.
Noel became the de facto leader of the group and took over the songwriting duties for the band's first four studio albums. They are regarded as the most globally successful group of the Britpop genre.
Portrayal
Spitting Image
The show mainly featured puppets of the Gallagher brothers, who were portrayed as unoriginal when writing their music (hence the Series 18 song “Haven't You Heard This Song Before?”), and they often were shown acting like stoned hippies.
2DTV
The brothers were portrayed in a similar manner to how they are portrayed in Spitting Image, unoriginal hippie stoners.
The brothers would get into various scenarios such as compositing each others teeth or one case where brother Liam Gallagher beat up every paparazzi camera that was snapping photos of him and his family while they were driving.
