Jacques René Chirac (UK: /ˈʃɪəræk/, US: /ʒɑːkʃɪəˈrɑːk/ ⓘ; French: [ʒak ʁəne ʃiʁak] ⓘ; 29 November 1932 – 26 September 2019) was a French politician who served as President of France from 1995 to 2007.
He was previously Prime Minister of France from 1974 to 1976 and 1986 to 1988, as well as Mayor of Paris from 1977 to 1995.
Portrayal
Chirac was depicted as being overly obsessed and callous with nuclear weapons to the point of being sexually aroused by them going off. Because of his term as President of France starting around the time of Spitting Image ending, this led to him only appearing in the final series of the show, Series 18.
